19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces

A comeback the Russian player secured his initial title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with former mentor his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title after the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 distinct events.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is really nice," stated ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in that event previously this season.

The player's counter-punching strategy and regular reactions on the playing surface had caused observers to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an better serving game.

He fought back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional title, gained dominance to create a decider.

Moutet rescued four initial break points in a tight third set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, he secured the title with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
